Katharina Freiin von Stackelberg

I like to research complex topics often at the intersection between technology and feminism, partially because of my own lived experience of feeling not taken serious within these spaces. Central to my praxis is a collaboration with technology, where I enjoy coding and developing games. To create interactive works, that allow people to approach and engage with them, I like to work mainly digital, which allows me to work often independent of physical space. I find the purpose of my work in whimsically raising critical questions, because I don’t think that designs need to follow a certain aesthetic to be valuable or taken serious. I focus on narratives and stories, that otherwise might be lost or remain untold, because they fall through the margins, and because I believe that we all deserve to have a legacy of people like us to look upon.
